ATOL Reporting accountant (ARA)

If you are an ATOL accredited body, you will no doubt be fully aware of the auditing requirements mandated by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA).

It is now the case that all ATOL renewals & audits need to be signed off by a licensed ATOL reporting accountant (ARA).

At Taylorcocks our Audit Director, James Blake, has many years of experience and a large portfolio of clients in the travel sector and was among the first batch of ARAs to be certified. As a result we are able to offer assistance to any firms who are ATOL accredited, whether this be signing of completed documents or their production, from start to finish. As a licensed practice, our travel industry clients can be assured that the exacting standards required by the CAA will be met.

Although it is perfectly acceptable for the relevant paperwork to be drafted by a firm of accountants who do not do not employ a licensed ARA, this is likely to incur additional costs, as you will still need to get these signed by an ARA before they will be accepted. For this reason we recommend ensuring that you use a firm of accountants that already have a licensed ARA.

If you would like to discuss the CAA requirements further, or to review you arrangements as a whole, please feel free to contact us and arrange an informal consultation.
